OPSEU Worth Fighting For Campaign: Overview
Who:
Community, health, developmental, legal aid, child welfare, and social service workers represented by OPSEU/SEFPO and partner unions across Ontario.
What:
Worth Fighting For is a province-wide campaign advocating for fair wages, increased funding for community and social services, and stronger public services. The campaign includes rallies, petitions, lobbying, and coordinated bargaining actions.
Where:
Campaign events take place across Ontario, with major rallies at Queen’s Park and local actions in communities throughout the province.
When:
Launched in 2025, the campaign continues through ongoing public events, advocacy, and labour actions.
Why:
Workers say years of underfunding, staffing shortages, and wage suppression have made it difficult to recruit and retain staff, affecting the quality of services Ontarians rely on. The campaign also seeks compensation for workers who were impacted by Ontario’s former Bill 124 wage-cap legislation.
Current Status:
The campaign remains active, with workers organizing rallies, negotiations, and public actions to call for fair pay, improved funding, and stronger community services across Ontario.
