Supports police but wants a different funding formula. She opposed a 23.3% Peel policing budget increase, proposed 14%, and resigned from the Peel Police Services Board during the 2025 fight, criticising the formula under which Mississauga pays about 62% of Peel policing costs. The increase carried.

Her priorities include the Hazel McCallion LRT, all-day two-way GO on the Milton corridor and future MiWay infrastructure. Housing-enabling roads are also part of her infrastructure plan. As mayor she supported the 2024 budget, which put $87.9M into hybrid buses and nearly $4M into MiWay service improvements.

What they did:

As a councillor she accused Mayor Hazel McCallion of advancing a hotel and convention centre project connected to McCallion's son; a later judicial inquiry concluded McCallion had been in a real and apparent conflict of interest. As mayor, she said during the campaign she would try not to rely on Ontario's strong-mayor powers, then used them within days of taking office to remove Mississauga's top bureaucrat and reorganise senior city leadership. In April 2026 Council also ended the raising of other countries' national flags at City Hall, following tension over a planned Israeli flag raising requested on behalf of the local Jewish community; she said City Hall should stay out of international conflicts, and the decision drew significant anger.
